About Large Minority

We create adventurous, team-based competitive group travel and private experiences that give back. Five percent of our profit goes directly to charity projects in the countries we visit — so while you're having the time of your life, you're contributing to the lives of the people you meet along the way.

How do our Tuk-Tuk Adventures work?

Think of it as a down-to-earth version of The Amazing Race — minus the airport sprinting, plus a lot more character.

Each day your team navigates independently between checkpoints using a road map and daily navigational sheet. No convoy, no guide to follow. Just you, your Tuk-Tuk, and the road.

Along the way you'll complete 1-2 daily challenges built around five themes: cultural, language, physical, culinary, and photography.

Each challenge earns points. The team with the most points at the end wins bragging rights. Speed counts for nothing. Curiosity counts for everything.

Your Ride

the humble tuk-tuk

The ride so nice they named it twice.

Each destination has its own version — Indian-made Auto-Rickshaw, Sri Lankan-modified, the Piaggio Ape. Three wheels, open frame, canvas roof, and a 4-stroke engine that's probably slightly more powerful than a horse.

Durable, forgiving, and perfectly suited to the kind of roads we take you down.

Cruising speed is a tasty 35kph (22mph).

Their cruising altitude is about one foot.

Accommodation

Where will we stay?

After a day on the road, we want you somewhere worth arriving. We personally vet every hotel, resort, glamping and homestay on every route — chosen for character and location as much as comfort. Expect a blend of local charm and genuine quality, and evenings that are as memorable as the driving days.

Logistics

Is it safe?

Traveling with us means you’re never alone on the road.

We handle all logistics, legals, and on-ground support so you never have to. Every departure travels with a dedicated support team — mechanics included — and your luggage travels separately so you can focus on the drive. You're independent on the road. You're looked after everywhere else.

On day one every team goes through full training. We're not teaching you to drive — you already know how to do that. We're getting you comfortable in a new vehicle, on new roads, with a clear understanding of local driving customs and what to expect out there. By the time you leave the training ground, you'll feel confident.

This isn't for everyone. But it might be for you.

If you've ever looked at a standard holiday and felt quietly underwhelmed — if you want to come home with stories rather than just photographs — if you're the kind of person who'd rather figure something out than be told what to do, then you're probably in the right place.

We're not for people who want everything managed for them. We're for people who want to feel genuinely alive for ten days, and don't mind a bit of chaos getting there.

What People Are Saying

Perfectly organised for our group of 16. Enjoyed the daily challenges and how it created opportunities for us to explore different things. Loved the variety of accommodations and the people we met along the way. Appreciate the Large Minority team and can't wait for our next adventure.

Tania Coutts

Aside from the adventure itself, the “home-stays” were beyond measure. There was absolutely nothing not to like! The team were incredibly enthusiastic, helpful, thoughtful, full of fun, professional and engaging

Jacqui McIntosh

I would not change a single moment, you have the best recipe already. We did this adventure at ages 61-69. Everyone that is capable should experience this once in a lifetime adventure. It was challenging at time but so amazing.
